wedding planning internships for teens?

shashiida123 asked:

I’m currently in my junior year of high school and have already decided on a career in events and/or wedding planning. I’ve done previous internships outside of the event planning field and am now interested in finding an internship that can help me get my career started and begin making myself known. However, every time I try looking, I always find the ones for college students. Are there ANY wedding or event planning internships in the New York City area for high schoolers?

lord_melkoriswatchingyou asked:

The answer is NOT fondant. I think it’s buttercream but I cannot remember. I made this specific wedding cake frosting a while back and I cannot remember what I made. Just now I made my buttercream recipe and it just doesn’t taste like the frosting that I made before. Any ideas of typical wedding cake frosting?

How much can i expect to pay for wedding flowers?

AliCat asked:

I know this will vary hugely depending on what kind of flowers, how many bridesmaids, table displays etc etc. but can you give me a very rough estimate of how much people usually pay for flowers at weddings?

flyable penguin asked:

I have two rings I plan on resizing. A diamond channel wedding band and a solitare diamond engagement ring. The rings would go up 1.5 sizes. Both are platinum. What kind of things should I talk with the jewler about or be weary of after resizing them?
Well, I handed my ring over to the jewelers and now I have to wait, which is killing me. It should be done by Thursday. I just pray that it comes out just like how it was before but a few sizes up.

The Joys of Wedding Planning

smpfilms asked:

Wedding planning… yeah, it’s like that.

Wedding planning forms can help with organizing an entire ceremony. A wedding list can also be used for the reception. Your very important details can be arranged and shared with your vendors. Read and learn how to keep everyone on the same page.

Wedding Planning Forms

So why are these so important, and why should you make sure you use these forms? Well the success of your once in a lifetime celebration is based on how well the formalities are organized. Any wedding planning formsshould include:

- Alternate location if outdoor ceremony due to unforeseen weather

- Descriptive vendor info with names & several contact numbers

- Timeline for events in order, delegate responsibility to multiple people

- Song selection of Prelude, Processional, Recessional, & Unity Candle

- Order of people in the ceremony (usually covered in the rehearsal)

Wedding Planning List

So now that the ceremony is over with, how will your reception flow smoothly? Well, just like the ceremony, the reception will have to have a wedding planning listto organize the formalities. Your wedding list will at the minimum include:

- Names of those introduced and music for the grand entrance

- Vendor requirements (attire, timelines, final payments, meal)

- Music selection for the dinner/cocktail

- Possible seating arrangements

- Toast/Blessing times and names of individuals

- Meal and cake start end times

- Bouquet/Garter Execution

- Special Dances (First Dance, Father Daughter, Mother Son, Bridal)

So who will organize your one wedding?

Well every client is offered wedding planning forms to ensure the success of their wedding reception and ceremony. These forms are given to you ahead of time so that your other vendors can do a great job for you. I hope this information was helpful, and just remember the sooner your details are set in stone, the less stressed you will be.

Remember those times when it was common to write out wedding invitations one by one on a pretty stationary with all the trimmings. It was traditional to write wedding invitations out and mail those months before the wedding day came about. However, with the dawning of the internet era, and with the ease and quickness of sending messages electronically, it was only a matter of time before incorporating the ease of sending invites, even something as traditional as wedding invites, would become something that brides-to-be would start doing.

Now, we are not saying that wedding invitations have been taken over by evites and e-cards, however, we are saying that this is a sign of the times and the era of digital wedding invitations not only have arrived, but are here to stay. Digital Wedding Invitations are simply jazzed up emails that are mailed out in massive quantities to all the wedding guests you are planning to invite to your special day. One of the requirements however is for the bride to be or groom to be, whoever is organizing the guest list to have everyone’s email that they are planning to invite. Obviously this is an obstacle to overcome. How does the bride to be or groom to be alleviate this concern?

One idea is to use a social networking tool such as Facebook or MySpace where the newlyweds can post their wedding online. Another way is to contact them obtain there emails and send out a fancy electronic invite better known as an Evite or Ecard. Now while a lot of the older generation do not have nor use emails traditional methods still need to be practiced when sending out wedding invitations on their special wedding day! A third idea is to have a website customized for the upcoming event and have it uploaded to the world wide web well in advance and have the URL advertised online.

Some of the downfalls to this approach as mentioned above could be people not having access to the internet or not being connected on a regular basis to be able to access either the wedding website created especially for your wedding day or they can not connect to the social network such as Facebook or MySpace. Another pitfall could be the older generation either being computer illiterate or being intimidated by the whole notion of the computer.

So in conclusion, digital wedding invitations will become the fabric of wedding for years to come! Although they will not replace the traditional wedding invitation digital wedding invitations are more cost effective, more time efficient and more environmentally friendly all while getting the message across to all the wedding guests in the same manner as a traditional wedding invitation would. Therefore go crazy with your digital wedding invitation be as creative with your digital invite as you would with your traditional print invitation. But still keep in mind that it is still a wedding and traditional methods must be applied.

Just wondering when a couple renews their wedding vows, for whatever`reason…does this essentially wipe the slate clean for both? Is it starting over without the divorce? What are some reasons people may decide to renew wedding vows?
